As a child, Erica was obsessed with animated cartoons and drew on every piece of paper she could get (including animating stick figures in the margins of her encyclopedias). Fueled by scholarship awards, she studied Studio Art and Communication at Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas, where a mentor first suggested that she try her hand at caricatures. In nearly three decades as a caricature artist, she estimates that she’s drawn over 300,000 faces at parties and events all over Texas and beyond.
At Heart of Texas Productions in Austin, Erica was an assistant animator on the films "Space Jam", "Quest for Camelot,” and "The Prince of Egypt," as well as television commercials, video games, and direct-to-video cartoons. At Little Wolf Pictures, she worked on the Disney video game “Villains’ Revenge” among other projects.
Erica is a prolific freelance artist, has illustrated nineteen books for various authors, and is currently working on the sequel to “Gideon’s Journey,” by Paul Enemark, an adventure fantasy novella. She is also an abstract artist who enjoys painting, pouring, and splattering with acrylic - her pieces have sold to collectors throughout the United States.
When she’s not making art, Erica sings, drums, and records studio bass for the rock trio Hellgrimm. She formerly played bass, drums, and sang lead for the band Monkeysoop. She also formerly played drums and sang back-up for the band Green Jellÿ.
