I was obsessed with animated cartoons and growing up and I drew on every piece of paper I could get my hands on (including the margins of my encyclopedias).
Fueled by scholarship awards, I studied Studio Art and Communication at Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas, where a mentor got me started as a caricature artist at parties and events while preparing for a career in animation.
After college, I did a stint in traditional animation at two different companies. At Heart of Texas Productions in Austin, I worked as an assistant animator on the films "Space Jam", "Quest for Camelot,” and "The Prince of Egypt," as well as television commercials, video games, and direct-to-video cartoons. At Little Wolf Pictures, I worked on the Disney video game “Villains’ Revenge” among other projects.
After animation, I worked as a graphic artist on education videos and an illustrator at a start-up children's book company. I also did a stint as an apartment locator and an technician appointment scheduler at a water filtration company before leaving day jobs behind to become a full-time artist in 2005.
As a caricature artist since 1994, I estimate that I've drawn over 300,000 faces at parties and events across Texas and beyond. I really enjoy getting to chat with people while creating original art for them within minutes! I have fond memories of events I've gotten to be a part of and always can't wait for the next one!
When I'm not drawing at parties, I edit and illustrate books for authors around the country. I've worked on twenty books as of 2025 and I'm currently working on more.
I'm also an abstract artist who enjoys painting, pouring, and splattering with acrylic - my pieces have sold to collectors throughout the United States.
I've done a little of nearly every kind of two-dimensional art at some point in my career. I'm grateful I've had so many avenues to take with my art skills.
When I'm not making art, I sing , drum, play studio bass, and do artwork and website and social upkeep for my hard-rock/metal trio, Hellgrimm.
Since 2018, we've recorded six albums, toured in ten countries and the US, and continue to play, record, and tour as often as possible. Check out Burningvrecords.com to learn more about my music projects.
Before Hellgrimm, I played bass, drums, and sang for the band Monkeysoop and played drums and sang back-up for the band Green Jellÿ.
I do what I love and I love what I do :)!
